The Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria is the administrative headquarters of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Nigeria.It is the most visible symbol of the unity of the Catholic Church in Nigeria. Headed by the Secretary-General, the Secretariat implements the decisions of the Bishop's Conference and facilitates the missionary, educational and human development works of the bishops, priests, male and female religious, and lay people connected with the Catholic Church in Nigeria.

The Secretariat promotes the good image of the Church before the outside world. It represents the Catholic Church In Nigeria before the government and non-government agencies within and outside the country.

It also facilitates the participation of the Nigerian clergy, religious and lay people, at the numerous meetings, workshops, congresses, retreats and seminars, that are held at the international,regional, sub-regional, and local levels.
